PROMOTION

A blog is worthless if nobody reads it, and there are, I'm sure many ways to promote it. Put your suggestions here.

Also, post a comment here for other ideas about the blog that don't fit the three categories above.

I am especially seeking ideas for content or contacts to 1) promote the blog and 2) keep visitors returning regularly. I welcome all ideas, suggestions and comments.

You say, "I'd rather have a more unique niche. "

Let's explore. Can you tell me a bit more?

I can't tell you more because I haven't thought of it yet. :) Somehow I plan to incorporate our three elements in such a way that, although it will have a sales component, it won't compete with sales and marketing blogs... Maybe even seek referrals from them.

Possibly looking at the elements from a motivational or lifestyle standpoint. It might be on communication in the various areas. Of course, it will reflect the sparkling personality, brilliant humor, and unending modesty of the Blogmeister.

All ideas are welcome! It's brainstorming time.

Do tell!

Sounds like it it is worth waiting for in my book. As for the brainstorming part...

Are you looking for ideas, ads, instruction, news or other minutia? As for ideas, we have so much good content on the web today that - for filler - preach the stuff we see on the web - If it serves Plan, Sell, Proper prosperity income. more

Thanks, Scott. You asked before:

"Are you looking for ideas, ads, instruction, news or other minutia?"

The answer is Yes. Tomorrow I'm going to set up posts for the three sections, and I welcome ideas for content in each. Especially favorite websites, layout, pictures, videos, podcasts, humor, instruction... anything you can think of that would make a section useful and unique.

I'm especially seeking ideas that will keep people coming back for more... like a tip of the week or cartoon or song... whatever. All creative possibilities considered.

I'm brainstorming Plan and Sell and Prosper in order to provide dialog and other gist for the blog. I'm thinking that the plan, sell and prosper sections will involve information about our program, fed to bloggers in order that we may provide feedback to potential customers just about the inner workings o Plan,Sell, Prosper.

The Plan, Sell and Prosper sections will speak about the advantages our program, using an open forum to discuss and answer questions about the Plan-Sell-Prosper product metaphors and activities.

We can notify visitors via RSS feed any time the blog changes.

This will invite them back, and also gain us another little tidbit of mindshare.

Hooks will bring people back. We spoke abut a one week hook. I think this will be too tough at first. You need give-aways or valuable coupons. We don't have that. Puzzles certainly won't do it. We can try a question of the week. Pose a question, see if there are any pundits, I'm thinking business-finance questions would be easy to gather.

I've got a newsletter working. I recommend the newsletter be published just four times a year for now. Of course the newsletter can grow and we can post as we have content and change content for quarterly publish dates.

While I have many more, brainstorm notes for today are to instruct people about all of the parts of Google. Many people do not use Google Earth and all of the other clean utilities that Google offers.

Show people how to set up their browser to Excite or Infosource so that they can get personal on the web for free.

This is a link to a free source of complicated excel spreadsheets.

I'm sending you an automatic Excel Financial Spreadsheet. This is the kind of "thing" I would distribute for free.

Let's have a link exchange. Everyone has their own favorites, friends trade them.

The newsletter will have content, columns, ads and other "sections" that will have the capability of repeated interest, and growth (Plan, Sell, Prosper).

More, this is just a post to get the ball rolling.

Excellent ideas, Scott. To all the rest of you, this is exactly the kind of stuff I need to put this sucker together properly.

I'm making no decisions until after the 18th, and I'd like to have as much to choose from as possible.

Idea for a tag line: "In flow with the dough."

Idea... We could have a "Treat of the week" Some useful thing we discover, such as the free Excel Financial Statement. It ought not be too much trouble to find some little thing to give away like that.

Idea: Some sort of weekly survey could serve to bring folks to the blog. Check out http://www.surveymonkey.com/Home_Landing.aspx
and let me know what you think.

The internet could soon be made obsolete by a new "grid" system which is 10,000 times faster than broadband connections. Scientists in Switzerland have developed a lightning-fast replacement to the internet that would allow feature films and music catalogues to be downloaded within seconds. The latest spin-off from CERN, the particle physics centre that created the internet, the grid could also provide the power needed to send sophisticated images; allow instant online gaming with hundreds of thousands of players; and offer high-definition video telephony for the price of a local call. David Britton, professor of physics at Glasgow University and a leading figure in the grid project, believes grid technology could change society. He said: "With this kind of computing power, future generations will have the ability to collaborate and communicate in ways older people like me cannot even imagine." The power of the grid will be unlocked this summer with the switching on of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), a new particle accelerator designed to investigate how the universe began. The grid will be turned on at the same time to store the information it generates, after scientists at CERN, based near Geneva, realized the internet would not have the capacity to capture such huge volumes of data. The grid has been built with fibre optic cables and modern routing centres, meaning there are no outdated components to slow the deluge of data, unlike the internet. There are 55,000 grid servers already installed, a figure which is expected to rise to 200,000 within the next two years. Britain has 8,000 servers on the grid system, meaning access could be available to universities as early as this autumn
